Tandems, AFF, and fun jumps from a turbine Caravan. October highs are back in the 80s, which is when the desert gets good for jumping.
Before you get in the plane
Tandems, AFF Level 1, and the ticket book are booked online. Coaching and courses are arranged at manifest.

Around the hangar

From tandem guests, AFF students, and the regulars on the ticket book.
Jumped with Wade on my 40th birthday. He talked me through every step on the ride up and made me laugh right before the door opened. The cotton fields from up there look like a quilt.
The jump was amazing. Fair warning, we were there five and a half hours on a Saturday because of a wind hold around noon. They told us up front it could happen, but bring snacks. The vending machine was out of almost everything.
Ingrid ran my Level 1 ground school and she does not let anything slide. I failed Level 3 twice on the turns and she never once made me feel stupid about it.
Good little DZ. Loads leave close to on time, the packers are quick, and $28 a jump on the ticket book is hard to argue with. I would trade a lot for more shade on the packing side of the hangar after 2pm.
I came to watch my son. The shade sails and picnic tables by the hangar made it easy to sit for three hours, and they let me stand out by the landing area for his.
Drove down from Phoenix for the first load of the day. Coffee was on at manifest, the briefing was short and clear, and we were climbing out by 8:15. The landing was softer than I expected.
